Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using SCRIBES ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

2. Description of Service

SCRIBES provides automated meeting transcription services. The Service allows users to:

  • Record and transcribe online meetings from various platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams)
  • Generate summaries, action items, and key decisions from meetings
  • Export transcripts in multiple formats
  • Collaborate with team members within workspaces

3. User Accounts

To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information during registration
  • Maintain the security of your password and account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Record meetings without the consent of all participants where required by law
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
  • Transmit harmful or malicious content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose

5. Meeting Recording Consent

You are solely responsible for obtaining proper consent from all meeting participants before using SCRIBES to record any meeting. Different jurisdictions have different laws regarding recording consent. It is your responsibility to understand and comply with all applicable laws.

6. Payment and Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate billing information. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.

  • All fees are non-refundable except as required by law
  • We may change pricing with 30 days notice
  • Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of service

7. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by SCRIBES and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of all content you upload or create using the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

8. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of information as detailed in our Privacy Policy.

9. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or factors beyond our control.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SCRIBES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SCRIBES and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
